Design and implementation of an e-commerce tool for the sale of collaboration services

SpaceNetAG is an IT specialist and service provider based in Germany and one of the leading companies offering hosting services with secure and legally compliant data protection. On their own internal in-house platform "ZAMADAMA", they sell services such as mailboxes and email accounts, cloud storage space and video conferencing tools.

In addition to the store itself, the customer needs a system that allows them to sell and configure their own products directly to customers to scale the business.

 

Solution


Through consultation and collaboration, a customised online shop for electronic services has been created, in which the entire package of functionalities can be purchased directly and specific services can be configured and modified immediately for customers to meet their individual needs.

The entire store and service configuration is integrated into the system and offers network services, such as setting up an email inbox or storing data in the cloud, as well as managing customer contracts.

Process


Due to the complexity of the project, the customer is kept up to date via consulting workshops and innovation hubs. The implementation is carried out via an agile development approach (Scrum method), then design improvements are made and functionalities are extended.
ZAMADAMA is a system that is constantly in motion, the customer constantly has new needs, so design, test and implement. It is a continuous collaboration and development of the customer's ZAMADAMA business unit.

  • Increase sales of the customer's products and services through online product marketing
  • Integration of several separate systems: The customer places an order, the system sends an enquiry to SpaceNet, all products are created in the network and the customer can immediately log into their account. ZAMADAMA thus markets open source products such as Nextcloud and Zimbra to its customers.
  • This allows the following services to be offered to customers:
    • Creation and configuration of email inboxes in different variants and security options
    • Cloud storage space in different sizes with customised functional enhancements
    • Online tool for video conferences
    • Domain management
  • This provides SpaceNet with a system that integrates, automates and improves sales processes. Customers can direct all questions and problems to an online service. This minimises administrative tasks and standard processes and allows employees to spend the time they have gained dealing with customer concerns.
